Eyebrow Transplantation

DR. EPSTEIN:  Hi!  I am Dr. Epstein.  I am with my patient, Ed for short, who just had 590 grafts to the eyebrows.  He had no eyebrows.  There they are.  One procedure.  We placed approximately 280 in each side.  Really nicely filled in.  He is a little bit swollen but overall he has some nice fullness there.

In the donor area he keeps his hair really short.  You can barely see the incisions; one there and one there.  I did it in two separate incisions so as to minimize the appearance of any scar if he does ever decide to shave his head.

How are you?

PATIENT:  I'm fine.  I am very happy.

DR. EPSTEIN:  You were very nervous to begin with.

PATIENT:  Yes I was.

DR. EPSTEIN:  And now?

PATIENT:  Now I am very relieved.

DR. EPSTEIN:  He did great.  The hairs will fall out and start to re-grow in around three to four months.  I figure in around eight months we may want to do a little touch up and give him more density because he is looking for really thick brows but with the 590 grafts placed he should have a really nice result.

DR. EPSTEIN:  Hi!  I'm Dr. Epstein.  We just finished an eyebrow transplant, just over 450 grafts on our 30-year-old patient that had plucked her eyebrows.  We just finished, not more 15 or 20 minutes ago.

You can see we restored all the density.  She had a tattoo of permanent makeup done several ago but you can see the after, how nice it looks.

Are you happy?

PATIENT:   I'm very happy!  It turned out perfect!

DR. EPSTEIN:  The grafts were placed individually, 0.5 mm recipient sites.  She is probably not going to look any worse than she does right now.  She is basically presentable.

About 225 graphs were placed into each eyebrow and she will be presentable really tomorrow or the day after just looking like her eyebrows are a little bit pink.

For the most part she is great!

We are just basically done with Karen's eyebrows and you can see the arch that was created and how nicely we filled in the entire eyebrow along this side and there is a little bit of touch-up.  We are going to do just a few more on this left side.  You can see there are a couple of holes that I made but for the most part we have been able to restore some pretty nice symmetry.  She was quite asymmetric to begin with.  We have given her a slight arch which compliments the natural shape of her eyes and you can basically see what we were able to do.  We placed a total of around 670 grafts total, each one with like 335 or 300 or so grafts into each eyebrow and this is what she has.  This is how it should look.  We have checked and done a couple of touch-ups but you can now see how they look.
